The Royal Golf of Marrakech is one of the most ancient golf courses of the Kingdom, inaugurated in 1927 with four holes
by the Pasha of Marrakesh, Hadj Thami El Glaoui Mezouari. In 1928, Gustave Golias, golf champion who became the Pasha personal Pro,
completed the first nine holes and traced the following nine ones. Passionate about botany, he also planted many tree-species which
are today nearly a hundred-years old and offer the Royal Golf its reputation of garden golf. In 1933, three great golf champions and
pioneers reshaped the course: Arnaud Massy, the first foreigner in the history to win the 1907 British Open, Bouchaib Stitou, the 1940
record holder on this course and Gustave Golias. Gradually, Royal Golf of Marrakesh became a real haven, combining authenticity and
lush surroundings. In 1933, Gustave Golias, as well as the famous Arnaud Massy, the first foreigner in the history that won the Open
British in 1907, and Bouchaib Stitou, who later became a record maker at Royal Golf of Marrakesh in 1940, reshaped the course to give
it the grace and elegance which still today embody it.
Imagined in 1927 by the Pasha of Marrakesh, Hadj Thami El Glaoui Mezouari, Royal Golf falls in
with the nicest historical international courses. With prestigious guests such as Winston Churchill,
David Lloyd George and also Ike Eisenhower, the golf welcomes all year long,
players from all over the world, who are willing to "play a legend"...
On top of the pleasure of playing, there is also unquestionably the pleasure of enjoying an
exceptional walk at the heart of the hundred-year-old vegetation filled with
more than 15,000 trees: Alep pins, eucalyptus, palm trees, olive trees, orange trees…
In this amazing haven of freshness, where each hole remains an unforgettable souvenir, the #15 (below),
